Visual Word is not organized into an operational team at this point in time.  Nancy and I have enjoyed the past 11 years that God has given us with this ministry, but due to a lack of youth we are at least at a temporary end if not final.  As we wait for what ministry God has planned for us next, I am hoping to continue filling the pulpit for small churches that need someone for a single Sunday or a series of Sundays.  If there is anything we can do to help others begin or contiune a mime ministry please let us know.  Although we are very saddened at the end of this ministry we praise God for the opportunities it will free us up for in the future.  We want to thank everyone that has been part of this ministry over the years.

Visual Word Mime Team Welcomes You

Visual Word is composed of five students ranging in age from 14 to 16.  Dexter Christian Church in Dexter, Kansas is the sponsor of Visual Word.  We have made presentations for a variety of groups including worship services, youth groups, nursing homes, day care centers, prisons, and inner city rescue missions.  Our mimes are done to contemporary Christian songs or are silent mimes.  Our program includes songs by David Meece, Carman, Rich Mullins, and Phillips Craig and Dean.  We are continually adding new mimes that may use other artists' music.  Our intent is to serve God through the presentation of mime, Bible study, and prayer.     We do not claim to be anybody special; nor do we claim that our songs or our mimes are special.  We do, however, claim that Jesus Christ is special.  We hope to get you to focus on Him and for you to let Him speak to your heart.  Likewise, one of our prayers for us is that we will open our hearts for what God has to teach us with each presentation.

    Our preferred program length is 60 minutes, but we can adjust to other time frames.  We will choose a gospel theme for each presentation, and then coordinate our mimes and talking around that theme.  When possible, we like to arrive at a performance one to two hours early.  During that time, we will work out any possible adjustments necessary for the performance area; it takes 30 minutes to put on makeup, and we like to have 20 to 30 minutes for prayer and discussion.  The music that we use is recorded on CDs.  The team is able to bring its own sound system if one is not available.
     We do not require a love offering for coming and making a presentation.  If a church or person chooses to donate money to us, checks can be made payable to Visual Word Mime Team.  Money that is given is used for makeup, mime outfits, travel expenses, and mission trips.  If you have any questions, please contact me.
