News Join Us in Welcoming Jacob Hamilton

He’s a self-described gamer, nerd, and a fan of all things comic-book. We want to introduce Jacob Hamilton, Customer Service Specialist, and SKT’s newest employee. On the job now just two weeks, Jacob brings seven years of industry experience with him. Because he was seeking to get back into the technical/network side, this matchup was just perfect for both SKT and Jacob.

Jacob Glenn Hamilton was born on February 4, 1982, at Wesley Hospital in Wichita. He’s an only child. He grew up in Wichita, attended Northwest High School, and completed his formal education with a batchelor’s degree in Business Administration from Southwestern College. Jacob was married for 10 years and has two children. Isabella (Izzy) is seven years old and loves to draw, and Miles, who is five years old, is into super heroes, comics, and soccer. Much of Jacob’s spare time is spent with his children; for instance, he is ensuring they are both good swimmers by taking them to lessons at the local YMCA every Saturday morning. Together, they also enjoy board games (such as Settlers of Catan Junior) and of course, video games, comic books, and movies. Two of their very favorite annual outings are to the Circus and to the Renaissance Festival. They also love attending Wichita Thunder hockey games. Jacob finds it amusing that although Izzy is very protective of her younger brother at school, at home there are some sibling squabbles and Izzy and Miles know how to “push each other’s buttons.”

Jacob’s all-time favorite movie is actually a trilogy – Lord of the Rings – and he never tires of watching it whenever it’s available. A close second is Shawshank Redemption. As mentioned earlier, he’s a gamer, playing online two to three times per week (but never past 9 p.m.), and some on the weekend. World of Warcraft is a favorite. He likes Mexican food (the original Felipe’s on Central) and sushi (Ninza and Wasabi).

He’s a straightforward-type guy, who’s easygoing, and Jacob really likes the environment and culture at SKT. Because he is a people-person, Jacob likes working with them and helping them – by providing technical support to SKT customers and SKT technicians, network monitoring, dispatching, and provisioning. And although he’s currently learning some new systems, Jacob Hamilton’s had the customer service thing figured out for a long time, and it’s great to have him on our team! Join us in welcoming him.
