News “Some Good News” from Actor John Krasinski
Right now, it can be a challenge to find good news. We found some and want to be sure to share it with you! John Krasinski, of The Office fame, launched a good news show from his home on March 30, 2020. Having asked himself for years now, “Why is there not a news show dedicated entirely to good news?”, he reached out and received so many heartwarming stories that he realized it was up to him to share them! John humbly says of his show, “I’m doing this very silly thing of starting a good news network … I’m literally just posting the things people send me.”
We especially love the colorful sign which is prominently displayed behind him, and which appears throughout the show. The sign, “SGN,” stands for “Some Good News,” and was created by his daughters. Combined, the first two episodes had more than 23 million views in less than two weeks.
During the first 15-minute SGN segment, John features clips and photos of appreciation of healthcare workers, kindness to a delivery driver, good Samaritans doing their thing, celebrations of new birth and love, a chat with Steve Carell (during the very week of the 15th anniversary of The Office, no less), and finishes off with a homecoming for a young cancer survivor in California.
If you’re a fan of the hit Broadway musical “Hamilton,” you won’t want to miss episode two. Also tune in for news on people around the world coming together to produce supplies for healthcare workers, clips of parents teaching at home, a cameo from “meteorologist” Robert De Niro, and more.
Signing off with, “I’m John Krasinski. This is SGN – asking you to remember that no matter how tough life can get, there is always good in the world – and we will see you next time!” … and he literally has us on the edge of seats, waiting for the next one! Until then, John also recommends “Tank’s Good News” and “Good News Network.”
