News SKT Wins Three 2021 American Marketing Association Wichita Awards
In its 2021 Marketing awards, the Wichita Chapter of the American Marketing Association recognized a Marketer of the Year along with the top campaigns in seven categories ranging from video and digital marketing to nonprofit and corporate marketing. New this year, the AMA also recognized businesses for their COVID-19 response efforts.
“We are thrilled to have been recognized by AMA Wichita at their annual Marketing Awards! We want to congratulate the other awardees for the excellent work on their campaigns despite a challenging year,” said Megan Harper, AMA member and the Marketing Manager at SKT.
Broadcast/Video Marketing – Gold Need for Speed
Because SKT has upgraded the internet infrastructure for every community in our network over the last three years, we wanted to communicate this significant investment and the new, higher speeds available. Our “Need for Speed” video,” which won a Gold award, featured local talent – including a Clearwater police officer – to promote SKT’s higher internet speeds in an entertaining, humorous way. Broadcast/Video Marketing – Silver Trust Your Neighbor
Our Silver-Award video, “Trust Your Neighbor,” again uses humor to show that SKT has a simple solution to Wi-Fi woes (Managed Wi-Fi router leases), while emphasizing that SKT can be counted on to be a reliable resource – just like a trusted neighbor. In fact, the neighbor in the video is portrayed as an SKT employee. Filmed at two different houses in Clearwater, you can watch it below.
Corporate Marketing – Silver SKTC.net Website Redesign
And finally, SKT’s website redesign won a Silver award. Starting from scratch, Megan, together with CBD, transitioned the website from SKTMainstreet.com to SKTC.net – a more memorable and shorter domain. From there, they created a dynamic and mobile-responsive design featuring simple navigation. Great content was added, with every piece of copy rewritten. Auto-play video backgrounds were created and are used for the website headers, and interactive tools added, including a service area map and internet speed advisor. Building upon SKT’s strong reputation for excellent hometown customer service, the new website is even more useful, functional, and beautiful. We’ve seen a 43% increase in overall users and 50 times more traffic to the Newsroom.
