Community Events Homecoming Fall Festival

Howard, Kan., will be celebrating 150 years — 1870-2020 — at this year’s community festival.
The two-day event kicks off with a West Elk Patriot Homecoming Parade/Pep Assembly at 2:45 p.m. downtown on Friday, followed by the Homecoming Football Game at 7 p.m. There’s a full day of fun on Saturday, starting at 7 a.m. with a Biscuits & Gravy Breakfast and ending with a Concert & Street Dance featuring David Oakleaf at 7 p.m. In between is a Chili Cook-Off, Parade at 10:30 a.m., Petting Zoo, Car Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Howard High School Alumni Banquet, Gospel Music by Kim Douglas at 11 a.m., Corn Hole Tournament at Noon, Pet Show at 1 p.m., afternoon Kids Games, Wine Tasting Fundraiser, Homemade Ice Cream Tasting, Cake Walk, Pedal Pull, Alumni Bands, evening BBQ Pulled Pork Dinner, and a Beer Garden. Fabulous Finds on 99 and Howard City-Wide Garage Sales will also be going on. It’s sure to be a fun-filled weekend.
